Annual Letter

2015 ANNUAL LETTER

Peppering People, Places and Things with Random Acts of Kindness

It is with great pleasure that we are sending you our third annual letter in hopes you will continue

to tell people Pepper’s story and the purpose of the Foundation. We encourage you to “Pepper it

forward” with your own Random Act of Kindness

The Pepper Rayfield HOPE Foundation Inc. was created in 2011 to commemorate Pepper’s life

(1970-2011). The Foundation seeks to emulate Pepper’s knack for the Random Act of Kindness

and our goal is to make our Acts of Kindness as unique as the man who forever changed our

lives.

The Foundation’s goal is to provide donations and gifts as Random Acts of Kindness. The

Random Acts of Kindness are made to a wide selection of individuals, organizations and

charities.

Through events and fundraisers, along with the generosity of our donors, the Foundation raised

over eight-thousand dollars in 2015 and provided over 10 Random Acts of Kindness.

2015 Random Acts of Kindness ~ You got Peppered

Provided financial aid:

~ To help with medical expenses for two sisters seriously injured in a car accident.

~ To help a father and son fighting cancer at the same time.

~ To help pay for a new wheel chair that was stolen from a 14 year old girl who suffers

from spinal disease.

~ To help a family who lost their loved one who was a kind, funny and caring person

who lived a life surrounded by many people who cared about her who died suddenly in

a house fire.

We helped with living expenses for a 10 year old boy who loves video games, baseball,

hanging out with his friends and making people laugh when he needed special care at

Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. He underwent a major surgery with a long

recovery period that required him to stay in Baltimore for approximately 2 months.

Bought gas cards to help parents with driving expenses that drove back and forth from

rehab for their 2 ½ year old son after he had a grapefruit size brain tumor removed.

Bought five Kindles to inspire kids to read in Ms B’s class.

Bought a refrigerator for South End Children’s Café.

Bought a Picnic table for a day care center.

Bought Christmas presents for 4 girls (15/16 years old) at a Girls Home.

From the bottom of our hearts ~

You got Peppered!

“Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you.”  Diana Spencer (1961-1997)

Every day the Board continues to tell people Pepper’s story and the purpose of the Foundation.  There are every day chats to friends, a neighbors or co-workers.  To help us with this effort we have started a “You got Peppered” initiative. Business cards with the Foundation logo and Facebook page link:  https://www.facebook.com/PeaceHopePepper are handed out with each Random Act of Kindness to help encourage the “Pepper it forward” spirit and promote the awareness of the Foundation.

As we thank you for your support, we hope that you will continue to contribute to Pepper’s legacy and the Pepper Rayfield HOPE Foundation, Inc.

“Excellent!” - Pepper Rayfield
